Our Story: A New Church in the Same Place
In 2024, Crossroads Church passed ownership over to High Point Church, a non-denominational church on the west side of Madison.
Crossroads Madison is now a new, non-denominational church in the same location serving McFarland and surrounding communities.

How it all started...
The story – the church then called Madison Christian Reformed Church – began in 1952 with two graduates at the University of Wisconsin. The two couldn’t find a church worship that was suited to their needs and said “let’s start a church."
The result was the formation of a group who first met on November 9, 1952.
The Wisconsin Christian Reformed Church leaders decided to support the Madison group by sending pastors to help lead the services and preach the Bible. With that assistance and continued reaching out and gaining recognition in the city, growth ensued and the church was established.
By 1991 the church had grown out of our expanded facilities and a new building was purchases at 3815 Dutch Mill Road in Madison. It was adequate to continue and grow the ministry with a new name: CROSSROADS CHURCH.
The expansion helped ministry in many ways. A Youth Pastor was hired and he had a great group of young people to work with. They went on Mission trips, concerts, and guest speakers.
Covid hit many churches and business hard, and Crossroads was not an exception. By the time the gathering bans were lifted, many people had moved on, leaving a small band of faithful believers without a pastor, and not large enough to support the ministries they once offered the community.
In October of 2023, a call was made to High Point Church to see if there was interest in rekindling Crossroads as a church. Over the next 13 months, relationships were forged and on Nov 17, 2024 High Point officially voted to come alongside Crossroads and plant a new church there. From June through November the attendance went from 18 people to over 80.
We are excited and confident that God is doing a new and good thing at the new Crossroads Church. We hope you can join us and see what the next part of the journey looks like as we partner in what God is doing.
